Food Production and Food Security

About a third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions is linked to food. Eating more sustainably and reducing waste is essential to fighting climate change in Waldo County.
Food security and food production is a focus area for WCCAC in 2026-2027.

Our Members Are Taking Action

In 2026 a committee of WCCAC members was formed to help those in need in our community access the SNAP benefits they are eligible for. The have created educational materials to distribute and collaborate with other local agencies to offer help.
(See flyer to the left.)
These outreach efforts are done in collabration with Waldo County Bounty.
