Pledge to Reduce Plastic

Many of the plastic items that litter our roadsides, sidewalks, and the ocean are single-use plastics. Microplastics and the chemicals they leach pose a danger to our health and our environment. 50% of all plastic is used only once and thrown away, according to plasticoceans.org.

Members and friends of the Waldo County Climate Action Coalition are signing this PLEDGE TO REDUCE PLASTIC to lessen our use of single-use plastics and to help raise awareness in our communities:

"We pledge to use reusable or home-compostable items whenever possible at our meetings & events (metal cutlery, washable mugs & plates, wood or bamboo cutlery and paper straws)."
